Operations Manager - Clinical Specialist Services

Applications are invited for Band 7 Operations Managers within the Clinical Specialist Services Care Group. Following a recent integration process, four posts are available:
1. Oncology/Haematology - Northern Services
2. Medical Imaging - Trustwide Services
3. Therapies - Trustwide Services

These posts present a fantastic opportunity to work with busy and dynamic departments across both Northern and Eastern sites within Clinical Specialist Services, and offer enormous variety across projects, performance, financial and operational management.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
The post holder will be a key member of the Care Group Operational Services Management Team and will provide essential managerial support and leadership within a defined service/s of the Care Group in order to:
* Provide effective day-to-day operational management of their specified service(s)
* Develop and contribute to cross site service plans and projects and change initiatives as required to ensure the service is delivered effectively.
* Manage the business activities of defined service(s)/speciality in accordance with Trust policies and within allocated resources.
* Continuously develop the most effective, efficient and cost-effective structure for the future delivery of those services with the involvement of clinicians, professionals and commissioners.
* Meet performance targets for quality, volume and cost.
* Take a proactive role in continuous improvement of equitable cross site services.
* Be a delegated budget holder and authorised signatory for specialties pay and non-pay budgets, including accountability for revenue budgets and procurement of capital equipment (with Trust delegated limits).
These roles are challenging and varied, and rely on the postholders having a diverse skillset which can be applied across a breadth of operational challenges. The posts could offer a development opportunity for someone wanting to diversify into operational management as a career change, or offer autonomy in service management to a more experienced candidate. Given the multiple posts available, the Care Group is hoping to develop staff coming into post in a cohort, with peer support across the wider team in place.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
