An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Safety Learning Team Leader Role within the Women's Clinical Support Unit at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This role is a key position working with the CSU Governance and Quality Lead to support the unit on its governance and quality arrangements. We are looking for an experienced midwife/nurse who is passionate about enhancing safety and outcomes for our service users and their families.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary CSU governance team and, as line manager of the Quality Safety Learning Team, will oversee the day-to-day delivery of clinical governance and risk management processes to provide assurance in safe working and effective practice within the CSU. A proactive approach to risk management and the patient safety agenda will support the embedding of high clinical standards alongside quality improvement initiatives to reduce harm and identify risks related to morbidity and mortality.
As a line manager of a busy team with often challenging workloads, we are looking for the post holder to provide effective leadership and management skills that promote a proactive approach to clinical governance and risk management.

Job responsibilities
The key purpose of the role is to support the Women's CSU Governance and Quality lead to deliver the patient safety and quality improvement agenda. They will contribute to the development of governance and quality improvement processes to ensure the provision of high-quality care standards, prevention of avoidable harm, and avoidable death by using evidence-based best practices, lessons learned, and data to identify incident themes and areas for improvement.
The post holder will monitor and review incidents and investigations and escalate any areas of concern to the Women's CSU Governance and Quality Lead. They will identify opportunities for shared learning of highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information to members of staff and contribute to the dissemination of information and learning to the wider multidisciplinary team. This may include the presentation of information which requires the use of a range of developed interpersonal and communication skills.
The post holder will be responsible for daily oversight and monitoring of all CSU internal and external reporting processes linked to adverse incidents, morbidity, and mortality.

Qualifications
* Registered Midwife or Nurse.
* Degree in Midwifery/Nursing.
* Evidence of continuing professional education and development.
* Masters level qualification or working towards.
* Incident investigation and root cause analysis training.
* Formal leadership training.
Other Criteria
* Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary), including clearance on blood-borne viruses in compliance with Trust Policy.
