Facilities Engineer
Location: Glasgow
The Facilities Engineer plays a critical role in supporting ISS and the site facilities team in establishing the Glasgow Campus as a benchmark workplace environment for the client.
The campus itself offers an attractive working environment, featuring cafés, a restaurant, a gym, and a collaborative, supportive team dynamic.
As an integral member of the Engineering team, the Facilities Engineer ensures the delivery of top-tier engineering services across multiple disciplines, adhering to the policies and governance set out by both ISS and the client.
Job Description
The primary purpose of the role is to protect the client’s operations and maintain the Glasgow Campus as a leading workspace.
This includes serving as a Shift Technician responsible for ensuring all equipment and systems on-site meet statutory compliance and remain in optimal operational condition.
Regular maintenance, timely repairs, issue management, and accurate reporting are vital to maintaining the resilience and availability of engineering assets that support the client’s and staff’s facilities.
The ideal candidate will come from a facilities management background, with experience working on large sites or within team settings.
Familiarity with building and facilities maintenance is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a high-quality workplace environment in partnership with the campus facilities team
* Perform PPM tasks according to schedules, ensuring operational effectiveness and system reliability
* Adhere to Health and Safety (HASAWA) and ISS Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
* Maintain accurate records and quality assurance standards
* Respond promptly to engineering-related reactive maintenance and help desk requests
* Coordinate initial responses and manage specialist subcontractors for PPM or reactive tasks
* Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics for PPM and reactive maintenance
* Deputise for the shift leader when required
* Attend site meetings and provide reports as needed
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Experience in a business-critical environment
* Preferred LV switching experience with a current LV training certificate
* 18th Edition qualification preferred
* Recognised electrician qualification through apprenticeship
* Strong written, IT, and verbal communication skills
* Team-oriented with a positive attitude
