Job summary We are looking for a cheerful, conscientious and adaptable person to join our team providing clerical support including reception and booking administration duties in the Haematology Clinic. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and able to make full use of the computer systems after training. Common sense, a willingness to learn and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential attributes applicants will require for this post. You would be joining a dedicated administrative team that supports patient care. You will need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way but be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions, and you must possess effective communication skills. You should have good keyboard skills and previous experience in a healthcare setting would be an advantage. You will be required to have a good level of education and have experience in Administration and Clerical duties with good customer care skills. Full training will be given on IT systems. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly in order to meet the needs of the service. Main duties of the job To give a warm and friendly welcome to patients and visitors of the Haematology Clinic with understanding and empathy. To update the Patient Administration System (PAS) and Aria as required following Trust policy and procedure ensuring accuracy of patient demographics. To answer the telephone in accordance with Haematology procedures. To ensure patient Attendances, Outcomes, Referral to Treatment (RTT) and Procedure codes are recorded accurately and in a timely manner on PAS in line with Trust policies and procedures.
