Fuel Poverty has risen dramatically and more and more households in Scotland are struggling to heat their homes to safe levels for their health and wellbeing. Our members work tirelessly to help people in the most difficult of circumstances. In many cases, they help transform lives.
The road to the elimination of fuel poverty is more than challenging and it will take many of us, with a breadth of skills and experiences, to make a difference. Our charity is looking to secure a suitably motivated and committed person to join our board of Trustees and be our Treasurer.
As Treasurer you will support the Board to help manage the charity’s financial resources and ensure that we deliver the best that we can with the resources we have.
Key tasks as Treasurer
* Oversee the provision of a quarterly update to the Board on our financial position.
* With our Team, review and develop our financial procedures and practices.
* Liaise with our Chief Executive and our day-to-day financial services provided by our accountants.
* With our appointed accountants, oversee preparation of our annual financial statement.
* Help to ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and good practice.
About you
* Enthusiasm to support people in fuel poverty.
* Available to attend our quarterly online board meetings.
* Attention to the detail of financial arrangements.
* Experience in financial management is essential; experience of serving as a Treasurer is not essential.
* Good communication and team working skills.
This post is unpaid. Expenses incurred whilst acting on behalf of the charity can be recovered.
