Job Description:
Join Our Team as a Multi-Skilled Plastering Repairs Technician!
Are you an experienced plasterer with a passion for delivering high quality work? At Paradigm, we’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Plastering Repairs Technician to join our Direct Labour Operation (DLO) on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering long-term sick leave. You’ll complete maintenance work in our tenanted properties, specialising in plastering while also carrying out minor day-to-day repairs. If you’re skilled in rendering or have experience with acoustic, insulating, or decorative plastering techniques, we’d love to hear from you!
The Role
As a Plastering Repairs Technician, you will:
1. Undertake plastering maintenance work unsupervised, ensuring high standards and first-time fixes.
2. Carry out reactive repairs, including larger plastering tasks and rendering.
3. Apply and finish acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing materials.
4. Prepare surfaces, secure corner beads, and create decorative textures.
5. Install plasterboard, insulation, and vapour barriers.
6. Complete additional maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring a seamless service for our tenants.
We provide:
1. A fully equipped hybrid van, fuel card, and all necessary tools.
2. An electronic tablet to view job schedules and access company updates.
3. Work clothing, PPE, and a mobile phone for seamless communication.
4. Jobs booked as locally as possible to minimise travel time.
What We’re Looking For
1. Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds Part 1 & 2, NVQ2) or extensive experience in plastering.
2. Apprentice-trained or at least 5 years of experience as a plasterer.
3. Proficiency in maintenance and repairs, particularly plastering.
4. Advanced knowledge of construction and health & safety regulations.
5. A full, valid driving licence.
6. Ability to carry out additional maintenance tasks beyond plastering.
7. Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Preferred Criteria:
1. Experience in rendering and decorative plastering techniques.
2. Familiarity with acoustic and insulating materials.
Office Location:
High Wycombe/Chesham
Area Of Work:
Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, and surrounding areas
Whilst this role is a 12m FTC covering long-term sick leave, in a business our size and with the transformation we are going through, there is a possibility that this could either be extended, or other opportunities may arise; many of our talented colleagues started at Paradigm as contractor/temporary/interim and have gone on to forge successful careers with us. However, if something longer term doesn’t materialise, you will still gain valuable experience which will add to your employability in this and similar fields.
