Financial Controller – Capex & Projects
Up to £65,000 + Bonus + Share Options + Benefits
This cash-rich, stable business has grown fairly quickly through organic growth and some acquisitions in recent years. Now with some fresh inward investment, the next phase of growth is planned which will see significant investment in new technology, reporting systems and ultimately growing the wider support teams.
The role will look after two key areas: Capex & Special Projects.
The hiring manager isn’t necessarily looking for a CAPEX specialist; some exposure to Fixed Assets in a mid to large business would be fine. The focus is more on finding someone with a continuous improvement mentality who can help drive key processes and system changes.
In this role, you will be responsible for all elements of Fixed Asset, Projects and Capex Reporting for the group. As a department, they are currently looking to transform the Finance processes and reporting, so this role is a great opportunity to implement changes and make improvements.
You will work with the business to ensure that Capital expenditure is in line with the budget, that they have correct processes in place for expenditure sign-off, and introduce enhanced reporting on spend. Additionally, you will be responsible for the accounting of in-house software development, streamlining processes and tightening controls to ensure that they are recording costs correctly and capitalising costs promptly.
The Finance Director sees the result of this as growing the commercial capability of the team, and your role will be a mix of BAU as well as business partnering and driving insight into performance for the stakeholders.
You’ll be reporting to a great Finance Director who is a strong leader and someone to learn a lot from. This role will grow in scope over the coming years, and you will be ideally positioned for future promotions.
