We are seeking to appoint an experienced Solidworks Designer to support our Manufacturing site in Grantham Lincolnshire. Our specialist manufacturing site at Grantham designs and manufactures bespoke protective packaging solutions for customers that require protection for high value products during transit and storage. Our customers are UK-wide and span several growing key markets including Aerospace, Defense, Electronics, Industrial and Medical Equipment. Solutions are manufactured using corrugated board, solid fiberboard, softwood timber/plywood, polyethylene foam, glass re-enforced plastic and a range of complementary products & fittings. Customers’ requirements can be complex and are often for very expensive products with high levels of attention to detail required. Solidworks Designer Role Reporting to the Design Manager, this role will support the manufacturing division strategy to grow market share through innovative sustainable solutions, excellent quality, and service within a competitive environment. Soidworks Designer Key Duties Ensure customers’ requirements and objectives have been fully understood. Manage a range of design projects from concept through to production. Design packaging solutions using SolidWorks 3D CAD (essential) Ensure all technical & legislative requirements have been met. Optimize material utilization within design concepts. Minimize environmental impact of packaging solutions provided. Contribute to the development of new sustainable solutions for the packaging market. Do you have the correct profile? To apply you must be a highly skilled designer, proficient with SolidWorks 3D CAD. You must have an engineering background and experience in managing a range of design projects concurrently to successful outcomes. Experience in packaging design would be advantageous but isn’t necessarily essential. It is also important that you have strong interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Further career development should be quickly possible for the right candidate.
