Red Sky are recruiting a Workshop Manager/ Workshop Controller for a company based at Heathrow Airport. As a Workshop Manager/ Workshop Controller you will be the Safety and Training Delivery Lead for the company and responsible for undertaking audits and reviews to ensure that health and safety regulations, relevant company policies, and agreed best practice are reported on within our organisation, and as necessary those of clients to which the organisation is contracted to work with. This includes monitoring health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, providing training, and promoting a good safety culture, delivering against audit requests and action points and sharing best practice across the business. Up to £45k p/a Monday to Friday 0900 to 5:30pm with flexibility. Workshop Manager/ Workshop Controller Main Duties and Responsibilities: Utilise training reports to push for 100% mandatory training compliance Prepare and deliver toolbox talks on key safety themes within both workshops Monitor external and internal training and keep records in line with ISO best practice Work closely with the safety reps to keep site schedules up to date and deliver against action points Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with stated aims and safety regulations, maintaining accurate records of all inspections and audits Organise and deliver health & safety training Promote a positive health &safety culture within the organisation through communication and engagement initiatives Support the preparation and delivery of staff briefings and toolbox talks Follow up and deliver against Health & Safety actions from inspections and audits Ensure tooling and Equipment is within calibration and up to the TCR working standard Incident near misses and observations management and investigation Proactively log and follow up investigations in Quintic (inhouse H&S application) Support Operations Managers with LTI Autopsy investigations/mitigation Top 3 Safety risks by area are identified and mitigation is applied Regular PPE/LMRA compliance inspections are vigorously applied Coordinate and oversee staff development in line with company expectations Be present within the Workshop environment and a take a proactive approach in dealing with safety actions Workshop Manager/ Workshop Controller Experience: Experience vehicle technician and willing to train new starters Auditing and investigation skills Experience of collaborating with external and internal customers/stakeholders Previous experience in a Aviation or heavy vehicle setting (desirable) Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements Experience of working with company processes and procedures and adhering to company standards of practice Workshop Manager/ Workshop Controller Knowledge and Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills Numerate, literate and analytical, with elementary data analysis skills MS Excel & MS Word skills [Essential] Attention to detail Results focussed LOLER experience PUWER experience WAH experience Adhere to the Company Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental policies. Follow Safe Systems Of Work procedures in line with the ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and OHSAS18001 management system framework. Workshop Manager/ Workshop Controller Qualifications: Undergraduate or equivalent qualification Full UK Driving license and willingness to undertake Airside driver training ISOH Managing safety (Essential or willing to work towards within 12 months) NEBOSH or willingness to work towards (desirable) Professional training qualification or willingness to work towards within 12 months (essential)
