Annual salary: up to £90,000.00 Head of Sales and Acquisitions UK Wide – Remote position – National travel required Full time / Permanent Salary up to £90,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience) plus car allowance of £6,900 and company benefits About the Role This new position will take responsibility for the consolidation and restructuring of our entire property acquisitions team into a centralised Mears operational function. As the Head of Sales and Acquisitions you will develop, manage, and implement a new national acquisition strategy covering property purchases and leasing agreements for our central government, local authority, and devolved and combined authority key client relationships. Delivering acquisition and retention targets in line with contractual requirements, while providing strategic leadership to the leasing and purchasing acquisitions teams. You will manage a team of c80 staff members specialising in Sales and Acquisitions. Additionally, you will manage key client relationships and foster strategic partnerships with landlords, agents, investors, and developers to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Principal Accountabilities: To deliver the specific acquisition and retention targets, working in partnership with MDs and each “MHM” Mears Housing Management contracts senior leadership team to enable successful delivery of mobilisations, contractual obligations, business growth and KPIs To meet property demands, not just in terms of quantity but also with regards to unit types, sizes, specification and quality, to meet changing contract requirements Create monitoring and tracking systems to measure performance against targets and to provide in depth reporting and analysis to internal and external stakeholders at all levels Ensure quality of property acquisition, renewal and handback arrangements to support efficient, cost-effective asset management as well as achieving client approval Own the strategic level stakeholder relationship with large-scale landlords, agents and investors and work with third sector organisations to maintain good relations Work with operational teams to liaise with customers and stakeholders for the MHM businesses, creating links and communication channels at senior level, identifying client and MHM operational needs Lead on quality assurance of the acquisitions team, reviewing performance against the targets set, KPIs, quality checks and audits, feeding back to the Operational Leads and MHM leadership team Actively input into business development activities in relation to stock acquisition strategies, proposals and commercial analysis Participate in delivering business improvement measures by reviewing operational practice and identifying performance which is below target or expectation Be a member of the MHM Task Team for new mobilisations to deliver market intelligence, property acquisition and to inform resource planning Assist in the design and implementation of new marketing and sales initiatives to support property acquisition improvements Key Criteria: Change management and business improvement experience, with detailed knowledge of Project Management and the mobilisation of contracts Ability to create and implement strategic organisational design Career experience of managing large multi-disciplinary teams Management Information data analytics, reporting and presenting Possess a strong, financial / commercial acumen including budgets, gained from a sales background A competent negotiator in terms of agreeing a solution and the relevant commercials Flexible and creative in managing workloads and ability to work to tight deadlines Ability to inspire, influence and manage conflict to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients Ability to work collaboratively and lead a dispersed team going through change Full driving licence Willingness and ability to travel nationally with overnight stays as required Preferred Criteria: A recognised qualification at HNC/HND level or above Social Housing experience Experience of working with public sector clients Benefits: Car Allowance Leading Pension scheme 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Private Health Care Home based with expectation to travel Nationally as required Volunteering Leave - Mears supports employees to undertake paid volunteering in the community, in support of our social value commitment If you would like to discuss your application further in confidence, please contact Laura Crosby at laura.crosbymearsgroup.co.uk Mears Group is a Disability Confident employer and recognises our people as our greatest asset, we hire individuality, recognising and valuing everyone is individual and ensuring equal access to opportunities for all regardless of social economic background or individual make up.
