Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our Pathology Quality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management team in delivering the quality activities across the Directorate required to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance. They will take an active role in the transition of services to a single electronic quality management system, its standardisation and ongoing maintenance. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of the accreditation and regulatory requirements of a pathology service which includes ISO 15189 and the patient safety framework. You will therefore have a working knowledge of laboratories and the application of the various accreditation / regulatory standards within their functions. The individual must have practical skills in auditing, risk identification / mitigation, root cause and trend analysis, with the ability to produce detailed reports. You will be an individual with a positive approach who enjoys working with individuals and teams at all levels, with proven experience of training and developing staff in the use of quality and risk-based practices. With excellent organisational and communication skills you will be able to ensure the services deliver the highest level of quality to support patient care and research. Main duties of the job Responsible for ensuring the design, implementation and monitoring of the quality management system meets the directorate's requirements in achieving and maintaining regulatory and accreditation awards. Provide leadership, guidance and training to the directorate on all aspects related to quality management. To manage and co-ordinate activities associated with the quality management system in liaison with the Compliance, Quality & Governance Manager, discipline specific quality personnel and the operational management team for the benefit of service users, staff and the Trust.
