Contract – 1 year contract initially
£33 per hour

Overall purpose
To assess and work with children and young people who have been identified as being at risk of engaging in offending behaviour or at risk of offending.
To ensure age appropriate interventions, working to effect change in both offending behaviour and self perception.
To perform tasks as an experienced YJS officer, supervising and enforcing complex community and custodial sentences.
To deliver services to young people as laid down by relevant legislation and National Standards.
Assist service development through support and mentoring of YJS staff and students. Duties and responsibilities
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering services to prevent and reduce offending behaviour amongst young people.
To manage a complex caseload ensuring high quality assessment, intervention planning, reviews and risk management.
To be responsible for delivering high quality reports to court which are analytical and offer courts realistic and proportionate sentencing proposals
Able to enforce court orders within designated timescales following any non-engagement or compliance.
To deliver services and interventions to young people as required by relevant legislation and National Standards
Attend court as and when required Essential requirements
Qualified to degree level
Cert in YJB Effective Practice
Degree in Youth Justice
Substantial relevant experience of working with children and young people
