Singleton Theatres are currently recruiting a band 5 scrub Practitioner.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, dynamic, and committed individual to join our energetic and vibrant Operating Theatre teams.
As with all theatre environments, each day with us has its own special demands as we have a variety of theatre activity on any given day. We are looking for individuals who are flexible, innovative, and highly motivated with great people skills, who want to learn and develop within a challenging and exciting area of patient care. Continuing professional development is encouraged, and you will be expected to promote and participate actively in education, research, clinical governance, audit, and guidelines. You will be encouraged to take part in the wide range of educational and training opportunities within the health board.
If you are a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current UK professional registration relevant for the post, then we'd love to hear from you. We would welcome applicants with Theatre experience or for those looking for a new challenge. Applicants who do not have previous theatre experience will undergo a full training and support programme to fully equip our staff with the skills they require.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. As service demands, staff are required to work across all three hospital sites within Swansea Bay University Health Board.
This post will involve caring for patients within the theatre department who will undergo a range of surgical procedures from various specialties, and you will be expected to manage patients' care throughout the perioperative stage.
You will be part of a driven team engaged in the challenges of an ever-changing environment and be expected to become an efficient and effective team member. This is a physically and mentally demanding role, and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to thrive within a dynamic, fast-paced service that puts patient care at the heart of what we do.
