We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Supply Chain/Operations Manager to take full responsibility for the end-to-end supply chain operations within the UK for our leading medical device manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in inventory management, import/export logistics, and warehousing operations, with the ability to ensure smooth and efficient flow of materials and finished goods. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, optimizing supply chain processes, and supporting the company's growth and strategic objectives. Full-Time, Permanent position £50,000 - £55,000 per year Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm Key accountabilities End-to-End Supply Chain Management: Oversee all aspects of the UK supply chain, ensuring seamless integration of inventory management, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution functions. Inventory Management: Lead the optimization of inventory levels and stock control systems, ensuring accurate demand forecasting and effective inventory turnover to meet production and customer requirements. Import/Export Management: Manage the import and export of goods, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, customs documentation, and timely delivery of materials. Warehousing Operations: Direct warehousing functions to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient storage, handling, and distribution of medical devices in line with industry regulations and company standards. Collaboration with Global Supply Chain Teams: Work closely with global supply chain teams to ensure alignment with corporate strategy, supporting growth plans, and implementing best practices across regions. Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with global commercial, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to ensure that supply chain operations support the broader organizational goals, product launches, and operational demands. Performance Monitoring: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for all aspects of supply chain operations, including inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and service levels. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements (such as ISO, FDA), and health and safety guidelines in all supply chain operations. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the UK supply chain team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, and ensuring the team is trained in best practices and operational standards. Customer Service Management: Oversee the UK-based customer service team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, particularly in relation to order fulfilment, product inquiries, and after-sales support. Skills & experience Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). Proven experience (5 years) in supply chain and operations management within the medical device or regulated manufacturing sector. Strong expertise in inventory management, import/export logistics, warehousing, and distribution. Experience working with global supply chain teams and understanding of global sourcing, distribution, and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams, build relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain management software (SAP, Oracle, etc.). Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted supply chain operations with a focus on achieving business goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to medical devices (e.g., ISO, FDA, CE marking) and their impact on supply chain operations.
