The FA is commencing the second year of its successful 'EDI Community of Practice' to support the grassroots and semi-professional game in 2024-25 and beyond. The Community of Practice ('CoP') consists of local ambassadors who will support the growth of grassroots/semi-professional football for all communities who are currently disproportionately represented across the game.
These roles will ensure that our focus on developing a skilled and empathetic workforce and network of volunteers across the game remains a high priority and aligns to our equality, diversity and inclusion strategy 'A Game For All 2021-24' and our 'Volunteer Game Plan 2021-24'.
The programme has a focus on the most diverse County FA regions across the country but will act as a support mechanism for the entire County FA network. Some ambassadors will have specific areas of expertise and experience and will be deployed to support the Men's National League System and Women's Pyramid. Our focus is on all protected characteristics with some focus given to areas where we can make the most difference in football, namely faith/ethnicity, gender, disability and sexual orientation.
We will identify, recruit and support new ambassadors from the communities in which we wish to extend the provision of football in a way that is right for them and their needs.
A total of 20-25 CoP ambassadors will be deployed across the County FA network and semi-pro game (men's and women's) where we believe we can continue the programme and add the most value.
Each role will be offered part-time with a 50-hour contract for 12 months only, from the date of induction. Each Ambassador will be required to disclose a DBS check alongside references and experience of working in a sporting and/or relevant environment within their chosen locality., The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. It is responsible for promoting and developing every level of the game, from grassroots through to the professional game, and generates significant revenue to support investment into English football each year.
The FA oversees England international teams across men's, women's, youth and disability football, as well as running the National League System and FA Competitions including the Emirates FA Cup, Barclays FA Women's Super League, FA Women's Championship, and Vitality Women's FA Cup, and the world-class facilities of Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park, all with a purpose to Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation.
We pride ourselves in offering a competitive rate of pay as well as great opportunities to develop and grow in your role.
