Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team working as a main contractor in the health, education, insurance and commercial sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously controlled and monitored. This position requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of cost control processes, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
* Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that project specifications are met within budget constraints.
* Prepare tender documentation and assist in the selection of contractors.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
* Provide advice on procurement strategies and contractual matters.
* Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
* Prepare reports for management on project costs, forecasts, and variances.
Requirements
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
* Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of cost control processes and methodologies.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
* Drive to help develop and grow company and create relationships with new clients
* A professional qualification such as MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is advantageous but not mandatory.
