We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEMH / PRU Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in Bolton and make a real difference to children with Special Educational Needs.
Job Description:
As an SEMH / PRU Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters emotional well-being and academic growth.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to students, parents, and colleagues.
* Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
* Foster strong relationships with students, encouraging resilience, self-esteem, and positive behaviour.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a PRU or similar setting.
* Strong understanding of SEMH issues and strategies to support students with these needs.
* Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging behaviours.
* Compassionate, patient, and resilient, with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable students.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
Desirable:
* Additional qualifications or training in SEMH, special education, or related areas.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in SEN education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
