Parental/Assistant - Irvine/Driver/Residential Child Care Experience Essential

Rate of Pay: £12.45 per hour plus 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
Part-time Hours: Casual
This role is to offer support to three young boys and their carer with getting ready in the morning and getting to school. The boys have additional support needs. It would suit someone who enjoys the outdoors, has a calm, easy-going nature, and plenty of energy. You will need to be able to:
1. Build a strong relationship with the children and their guardian.
2. Maintain established rules and routines.
3. Be simple, clear, and direct when working with the children.
4. Keep your expectations flexible.
5. Break activities up to maintain the children’s interest (e.g., walking, playing games, swimming, cycling, gardening, hiking, reading, outdoor sports, fishing, working with animals).
6. Reward good behavior.
We are looking for individuals who have compassion and commitment, who can support making positive changes to someone’s life. Experience of working with energetic children who can occasionally be tricky to manage is desirable.
You will be employed to assist with parenting and work closely with three boys aged 7, 8, and 9 within their home and in the community. The boys love the outdoors, scooters, skateboards, football, and generally running around.
The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the young people are safe, feel secure, and can participate in activities that interest them. This will enable their main caregiver to have some support and respite in order to recharge and provide the attention the boys need.
You will be required to work term time and non-term time on a flexible basis, including occasional weekends.
You should have a positive, flexible, and friendly personality with a calming and positive nature.
Two up-to-date reference contacts are required, one of which must be from a present or previous employer. In addition, a new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment (disclosure cost to be met by the employer).
There is a 6-month trial period attached to this post.
