We are recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Team Leader / Deputy Manager to join a nurturing Residential Children’s Home in Derby, supporting children with learning disabilities. This role is ideal for a dedicated care professional ready to take the next step in their career, supporting both young people and fellow staff. As Team Leader, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure high standards of care, promote staff development, and create a safe, empowering environment for the children in your care. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day leadership and hands-on care to support children with learning disabilities Mentor, supervise, and guide care staff to deliver high-quality, consistent support Assist in managing the home’s documentation, risk assessments, and regulatory reports Monitor behaviour, emotional development, and progress of the children Support children in educational, social, and recreational activities Promote safeguarding, positive behaviour, and a child-centred culture Ensure compliance with care standards and internal policies Collaborate with professionals, families, and external agencies Contribute to the development of a cohesive and supportive team culture Requirements: Previous experience working with children with learning disabilities or additional needs Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent (essential) Some leadership or supervisory experience is desirable Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to handle challenging behaviour calmly and professionally Strong knowledge of safeguarding and residential care practices Flexible to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties Full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential) What’s on Offer: Competitive salary up to £30,000 per annum Supportive and inclusive working environment Full induction and ongoing training Career progression opportunities Access to employee well-being and development programmes Apply Now: If you’re a dedicated care professional with a passion for helping children reach their full potential, apply now with your CV and a member of the Key Health Team wil be in touch
