We currently have a Catchment Operator position available for a motivated individual to join our team based in Plymouth. Joining us on a full time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £25,299 - £31,822.04 per annum inclusive of shift allowance and standby.
The right candidate will have a positive can-do attitude and be prepared to take part in the standby pattern of 1 week in every 3 on call; along with rotational shifts, 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm. A full tailored training plan will be provided.
About the role:
As our Catchment Operator you will carry out reactive and planned work as scheduled to deliver the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Waste Water Treatment Works.
You will also provide services of the required quality and quantity, in a sustainable manner that meets the required internal and external customer service standards, whilst protecting the environment.
What you'll be doing:
* Carrying out on-site monitoring of treated wastewater
* Responding effectively to site conditions and instrument monitoring information
* Storing and handling chemicals in accordance with COSHH, QMS Procedures and relevant Health and Safety standards
* Carrying out calibration and first-line maintenance on instruments & mechanical equipment
* Using PCs, tablets and other computer hardware and software
* Carrying out grass-cutting, weed-killing, and general maintenance in order to maintain site conditions
* Providing thorough, accurate and timely feedback of activities completed
* Adhering to schedules and procedures
* Liaising with Area Manager and Field Support Centre to ensure schedules are optimised
* Dealing effectively with customer queries when directly approached and passing information up the management line where appropriate
* A flexible working pattern is in operation which includes undertaking standby and call-outs and working evenings and weekends on a rota basis
What we are looking for:
* A full UK Driving Licence
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science subject desirable
* Experience of working in a team and an understanding of the importance of teamwork
* Experience of Health and Safety and an understanding of the importance of it
* Previous experience of operating and maintaining complex processes and working with modern technology is desirable
* Proven experience of working with computers, tablets and various applications/software packages
* Common sense approach to fault finding
* Commitment and drive to succeed within a team environment
