Royal Mail P&FS are now recruiting for a Mobile Plumber covering the CR / DA / BR / ME and SE post code areas

Salary: £33,800.41 to £37,570.35 per annum dependent upon skills and experience plus London allowance of £3,202.24 per annum.
22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full time 37 hours 30 minutes per week (excluding meal breaks) - typical attendance will be 08:00 until 16:00 Monday to Friday however, flexibility is essential.
There will be potential to join an out of hours callout rota in the future.
You will need a flexible approach to work and be willing to travel to different sites within a specified geographical area. A vehicle will be provided for required travel. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to discuss work and progress with customers and managers. You will also have excellent organisational skills.
Key aspects of the role include:
1. Be responsible for plumbing maintenance and repairs, planned and reactive on numerous commercial sites.
2. Have knowledge and experience of working on drainage. Able to unblock and repair foul drainage pipework.
3. Have an understanding of all basic plumbing such as replacing taps, sinks, cistern filling / flush units and copper pipework repairs.
4. Supply knowledge in a range of technical situations, making personal judgments on how to undertake work to achieve quality, cost and time objectives.
5. Provide technical advice and guidance to other staff and customers in order to resolve problems.
6. Manage the delivery of Corrective and Planned Maintenance to meet the performance measures detailed in the contract.
7. Liaise with customers’ representatives on a day to day basis to ensure customer requirements are fully met.
8. Check and ensure all appropriate and approved paperwork is completed.
9. Make personal judgments on how to undertake work to achieve cost, quality and contractual objectives.
10. Act as a role model for safety, setting an example to colleagues and customers.
11. Manage the relationship with the customer, and liaise with customers to ensure that the customer is fully informed and project a positive professional image of self and Royal Mail P&FS.
About you:
1. Formal trade qualification in Plumbing (C&G or equivalent is desirable).
2. Plumbing experience (1 year preferred).
3. CSCS (preferred).
4. The ability to communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical issues.
5. Experience of dealing with Customers in a commercial environment.
6. Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence (no endorsements preferable) as this vacancy will involve travel within a specified geographical area.
7. Computer literacy skills an advantage.
