We’re looking for a dedicated Careline Manager to lead our 24/7 Careline Service in London. This is a unique opportunity to manage an emergency call-handling service that supports our diverse communities around the clock.
Your Role:
As the Careline Manager, you will:
Lead and Inspire: Manage a team of Deputy Careline Managers and Duty Careline Officers, ensuring they’re motivated, well-trained, and delivering the highest standards of care.
Drive Excellence: Oversee a 24/7 alarm monitoring and response service, ensuring it meets legislative requirements and the needs of our service users.
Innovate and Improve: Develop strategies to enhance service delivery, share best practices, and implement innovative solutions.
Manage Resources: Take charge of budgets, rotas, and resources, ensuring efficient use of funds and compliance with European Working Time Directives.
Build Partnerships: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver seamless services and promote the Careline Service across the borough.
Ensure Safety: Act as the Lead Officer for Adult Safeguarding, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed to protect vulnerable adults.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience managing a 24/7 service, ideally within emergency response, healthcare, or social care (e.g., London Ambulance Service, NHS 111).
Strong leadership skills with a track record of motivating teams and delivering high-quality, customer-focused services.
Knowledge of Community Alarm monitoring systems and proficiency in IT packages like Word and Excel.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to analyse complex information and implement effective solutions.
A commitment to equality and inclusivity, with a strong understanding of equalities issues.
Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota, including out-of-hours, nights, and weekends.
Desirable: A full UK driving licence (manual).

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the Careline Service operates 24/7, meeting all quality standards and contractual commitments.
Recruit, train, and develop staff, providing regular supervision and support.
Monitor budgets, activity, and performance to ensure targets are met and resources are used effectively.
Develop partnerships to enhance service delivery and meet the needs of service users.
Act as the Lead Officer for Adult Safeguarding, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Prepare management reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Shifts:
This role is primarily Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, but flexibility is key. You’ll need to cover out-of-hours shifts, nights, and weekends as required to support the 24/7 rota.
