Who are we looking for?
A great opportunity has arisen for a site Maintenance Technician. In this new role, you will be involved in all-round maintenance and repair services, including carpentry, painting, and maintenance of plant equipment and other machinery, and support the Maintenance department, as required.
What will you be doing?
* Complete delegated and reactive work allocated by the Maintenance & Facilities Manager to ensure the Ashby site is maintained to a consistently high standard, including the upkeep to the offices and premises. Possess an in-depth understanding of maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities to be maintained.
* Assist in the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment of a type that, by its nature and design, falls in the capabilities of a Maintenance Technician.
* Undertake routine work as required e.g. painting of offices and general areas.
* Be responsible for the care and safekeeping of all tools and materials and ensure the security of the engineering store.
* Assist with tasks for the Maintenance department, such as trips to local suppliers for items needed for production.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and assist in carrying out scheduled recording and testing of site safety equipment.
* Attend major incidents in support of operational personnel.
* Provide support in response to severe weather conditions, e.g. snow clearance or gritting, as directed by the Maintenance & Facilities Manager.
* Undertake statutory training as may be required and product training by consultation.
* Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities, and respond positively to new and alternative systems.
* Understand and comply with the company’s environmental policies.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the position.
* Adhere to the Company’s rules and regulations.
Who are You?
* Previous experience in a similar role or experience within a trade would be desirable.
* GCSE Grade C in Maths and English, or equivalent, or through proven experience.
* IPAF or equivalent for working at heights, would be desirable.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels and external companies.

Working hours and pattern
40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm with a 30-minute lunch break, and Friday 7.00 am to 1.00 pm.
