This is an exciting opportunity to join CIPFA’s corporate communications team.
You will play a key role in the well running of a proactive and professional in-house communications function. You will support our policy and publications launches, thought leadership and delivery, be part of a busy press office and provide media advice to policy leads and other senior staff.
The postholder will be responsible for full-service communications support, including writing articles, supporting colleagues with communications planning, including press office, thought leadership, social media and strategic PR, ensuring efficient and effective.
This role offers the chance to make a significant impact within Public Finance Management and to deliver our thought leadership strategy and contribute to the overall goals of CIPFA.
Person Specification:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Essential Experience:
1. Experience working for a membership organisation or professional body, or within the public sector in a similar role.
2. Working in media relations – handling press office queries, pitching articles and proactively planning engaging content.
Knowledge/Skills:
1. Writing concise, engaging copy on complex policy issues – often to tight deadlines.
2. Knowledge of key engagement and digital tools, such as CRM, media and social media platforms, video and podcast editing suites.
It is essential that candidates have a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Salary:
£31,000 – £36,250
