Location: Southampton, salary £28,000 to £29,000

Position Overview
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in leading and supporting a team of dedicated support workers. You will ensure that the highest standards of care are provided, promoting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the children. Your leadership and expertise will be vital in creating a therapeutic environment where children feel safe and valued.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Provide day-to-day leadership and support to a team of support workers
2. Ensure the delivery of high-quality trauma-informed care to all the children
3. Develop and implement individualised care plans and risk assessments
4. Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging trust, empathy, and emotional regulation
5. Participate in regular training and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills in trauma-informed care and related areas
6. Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including Social Workers, Therapists, and Educators
7. Contribute to the seamless operation of the home, from household chores to financial management
8. Encourage our children to explore new horizons and embrace their individuality
9. Be a listening ear and a source of encouragement
10. Celebrate every milestone achieved by the children
11. Guide the children towards independence while fostering self-belief and resilience
12. Carry out supervisions
13. Participate in on-call duties
14. Handle emergencies and challenging situations with calmness and professionalism
15. Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection policies
We're looking for individuals who are:
1. 2 years + experience working in a children's residential setting (Desirable)
2. Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent (Desirable)
3. Having an understanding around a PACE/DDP Model of Care is desirable
4. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
5. Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices
6. Strong leadership and management skills
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and colleagues
8. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanour
9. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when necessary
10. Ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and other professionals
11. Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the children and the organization
12. Commitment to continuous personal development
13. Flexible and adaptable to varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
14. Holder of a valid UK driving licence
