Primary Responsibilities
Electrical Design, Engineering & Instrumentation of process plants within the food, beverage, personal care & homecare industries. Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Engineering specifications for electrical control panels, instrumentation and electrical installation.
2. Specify and discuss instrumentation requirements with the Process Department and suppliers.
3. Support sales team in proposals by estimating labour and materials costs using internal and supplier tools.
4. Manage control panel manufacturing, liaising with suppliers and assisting in testing control panels before shipment to site.
5. Create Load/Motor, Instrument and I/O Schedules from the P&ID and relevant equipment data sheets.
6. Liaise with site and project team during installation and support site manager during the installation period if design questions arise.
7. Design electrical loop diagrams, cable routes and layouts.
8. Approve Control Panel schematics and layouts, incorporating connection data onto the electrical loop diagrams.
9. Configure and commission instruments and VSDs, and support I/O testing with the wider project team.
10. Have a good understanding of control bus systems, Profibus DP, Profibus PA, AS-i and industrial Ethernet networks.
11. Assist with Power up procedure once installation is complete.
12. Assist with I/O Testing & early stage commissioning.
13. Prepare site commissioning file complete with construction status electrical drawings.
14. Complete and issue electrical drawings to the documentation team on completion of the project.
Technical:
1. Ensure that all electrical criteria are met from initial concept through detailed design, panel testing and handover as defined in the project documentation.
2. Have a good understanding of the food, beverage, personal care and home care industries including all relevant regulations and certifications.
3. Previous experience with hazardous area regulations and ATEX.
4. Have a good understanding of control systems (such as Siemens or Rockwell), Profibus DP, Profinet and industrial Ethernet networks.
5. Good understanding and design experience of safety systems, E-Stops, interlocks etc.
6. Ability to specify, technically and commercially appraise, recommend, select and source various control panel components.
7. Panel testing in the UK.
8. Ability to design and specify control systems utilising IO Link, Profinet, Profibus DP, Profibus PA, ASI networks & HART/4-20mA technologies.
9. Experience with instrumentation applications including but not limited to Flow, Level, Pressure, Temperature, Weight Systems & Analytical.
10. Experience with instrument suppliers including but not limited to Endress & Hauser, IFM, Siemens & Mettler Toledo.
11. End user documentation and liaising with the after sales department to complete the project manual.
Qualifications
1. HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with relevant industry experience.
Location
The primary location would be at the Warrington office. Standard working hours are Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm. Occasional visits to client's sites for meetings, surveys, and commissioning support will be required.
Experience
1. 7 Years+ experience in the design and engineering of electrical process systems.
2. Ability to design control systems from P&IDs & Process Data Sheets.
3. Generation of project documentation (electrical drawings, proposals and specifications).
4. AutoCAD & Microsoft Office literate.
5. Control Panel Design & Testing.
6. Understanding of electrical regulations relating to Hazardous Area applications.
