An exciting opportunity has arisen at Cardiff and Vale College for a STARN Project Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Principal, the role will be responsible for supporting the College to Coordinate the STARN project in the planning, coordination and delivery across the college, to include:
* Manage the process of early identification of young people who are at risk of leaving college and becoming NEET.
* Liaise with relevant managers within the College, to implement the 'At Risk of Leaving' strategy to identify and action internal signposting across the CAVC Group.
* Ensure compliance with UKSPF criteria: Manage the collection and organisation of documentation to align with UKSPF eligibility requirements. Ensure all staff adhere to compliance guidelines and maintain accurate records of support.
* Work with Departments to ensure that reports and mapping of any restorative actions and signposting is completed in a timely fashion.
* Coordinate Engagement Officers: Direct the efforts of Engagement Officers to implement targeted group interventions, focusing on student engagement and retention.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in leading and motivating a team to achieve project goals in addition to experience of working with young people and adult learners who are at risk of becoming disengaged from education, training or employment. You will also have substantive experience of communicating effectively with people at all levels within an educational setting and experience with early identification processes and student support services.

Whilst the ability to speak Welsh is not essential for the role, we would love to hear from candidates who are fluent and can engage with learners through the medium of Welsh.
