SEMH Specialist School
We are looking for a SEMH Primary Teacher for a specialist SEMH school based in Harlow, Essex. The school caters for students who are unable to access mainstream education and have very complex SEMH needs, sometimes with a dual diagnosis of autism. This specialist teaching role is to start ASAP or Easter and will involve teaching a primary class of around 4-6 students.
We support education providers that educate children and young people who, for many reasons, cannot access any other formal educational settings. Understanding their SEMH needs must be met before any academic development can happen. We are seeking individuals who can make a positive impact.
What We Are Looking For - SEMH Primary Teacher
* Therapeutic teaching approach
* Able to deliver primary curriculum
* Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
* Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
* Experience with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, and social communication teaching background
* Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
* Experience of working with disengaged teenagers is essential
