You will be joining a multi-functional team that builds and tests complex assemblies who work across 3 shifts and report directly to the Production Leader for the area. Internal and externally recognised qualifications can be gained through your training. With opportunities to grow and learn and have an opportunity to lead the shift with added responsibilities.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum, we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing:
You will work as part of a team to contribute to our business objective of delivering components on time to a high specification for the customer, whilst operating in accordance with safety requirements and within established procedures.
* You will perform tight tolerance assembly of components as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* You will conduct functional testing of components prior to despatch.
* You will raise non-conformance issues.
* You will work to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and customer delivery commitments.
* You will work in a compliant manner to ensure that products are built to the correct technical and quality specifications.
* You will participate in continual review and improvement processes for the business to identify best practice.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
* It is essential that candidates possess a recognised time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, at either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3, and BTEC national or equivalent qualification.
* Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality.
* Candidates must have experience with tight tolerance assembly and working in accordance with strict quality standards.
* PC literacy is essential.
* Knowledge of lean principles and process basics.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
