Role: Principal Commercial Manager – Category Management & Procurement

Hours per week: 37 hours per week
Contract Length: Anticipated 15 months
Location: Reading, West Berkshire
We are seeking an experienced commercial candidate for the role of Principal Procurement Manager. You will lead and be responsible for developing and managing the procurement of major capital investment projects covering construction and infrastructure.
Key accountabilities:
Lead the development of the organisation’s procurement strategy, market engagements, and tender execution, using collaborative and innovative procurement and contract strategies.
Development of route to market solutions that adopt latest procurement thinking, ensuring compliance to procurement regulations.
Manage the acquisition of complex infrastructure solutions, fostering strategic partnerships and alliances.
Assist in the design and execution of procurement processes, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and best practice sharing.
Guarantee compliance with all applicable regulations and legislation throughout the procurement activities.
Key requirements:
Expertise in the procurement of complex construction and major infrastructure projects
Exceptional leadership skills, to help coach, mentor and develop a high-performing team.
Ability to support and execute complex strategic sourcing activities in line with approved category strategies and preferred suppliers list, including the execution of the RFx process, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation.
