We are looking for an experienced and passionate business support professional with environmental expertise to join Staffordshire County Council’s Environmental Business Support Team from March 2025. You will be part of a team focused on environmental business support and funding. The main aim of the role is the management, co-ordination and delivery activities associated with the Green Solutions Programme. This highly successful programme delivers energy assessments, training, grants and loans to businesses across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Package Description Main Responsibilities In this role you'll: Work with the Environmental Support Manager on all aspects of the day-to-day operation, co-ordination and delivery activities associated with the Green Solutions Programme. Assist businesses to embrace new technologies to help them on their journey to net zero by encouraging the take up of business support programmes and assisting them through the application processes. Work in partnership with project partners such as the West Midlands Combined Authority, District & Borough Councils, Staffordshire Business & Environmental Network (sben), appointed providers, business representatives, project applicants and colleagues in all services both within and outside Staffordshire County Council. Act as a primary point of contact for the project internally and externally. You will also be expected to ensure the Green Solutions programme is managed in accordance with contractual and funding agreements and with associated partners, prepare and submit claims, monitor and review performance, engage with clients and promote the programme. The Ideal Candidate You'll have: a relevant qualification or experience in engaging with businesses and working in a business support role. good knowledge and a strong interest in the environment and a desire to help Staffordshire meet its goals and targets in relation to achieving net zero. the ability to help organise and attend events where you will communicate well with business owners looking to reduce their carbon footprint. have a good sense of time management that assists with delivery of the project. experience of working within a businesses support or administration function.
