The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Market Research Manager with a passion for understanding diverse audiences, shaping impactful strategies, and driving adoption of innovative programs—primarily in education, with opportunities to explore other global challenges such as global health, clean energy, and climate change.
You will design and execute comprehensive research strategies, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and provide actionable insights to inform strategic decisions. Please note: our work demands collaboration spanning multiple teams and the ability to quickly adapt to new developments and opportunities. Accordingly, this is an in-office role in Kirkland, WA.
Responsibilities:
* Lead Market Research Projects: Manage research initiatives focused on understanding the educator audience. Partner with marketing leaders and external vendors to design, execute, and report on surveys, focus groups, and other research activities.
* Lead Business Analytics Reporting: Manage reporting on core marketing metrics for the OER Project to measure goal attainment for courses, community engagement, and campaign/event success. Partner with OER stakeholders to understand metrics for their workstreams and generate insights to drive impact.
* Generate Strategic Insights: Synthesize findings from primary and secondary research to uncover education audience preferences, messaging opportunities, and trends. Conduct onsite research through classroom visits and other educational settings to capture qualitative insights, including case studies of OER Project curriculum implementations. Deliver actionable recommendations to shape marketing strategies, curricula, and program adoption goals.
* Shape the Research Agenda: Collaborate with the Senior Advisor to define the annual research agenda, align priorities with the school calendar, and manage the research budget. Ensure efforts are strategically aligned with organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
* Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in market research, preferably with expertise in the education sector, as well as demonstrated ability to develop subject-matter fluency in other industries. Experience in fast-paced or startup-like environments is a plus.
* Technical Skills:
o Strong command of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
o Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., SPSS), visualization platforms (e.g., Excel), and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint).
o Expertise in developing case study protocols and focus group protocols.
* Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and inspire in-person (greater Seattle) as well as virtual collaboration with partners and vendors in other locations.
* Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present insights to executive stakeholders and create impactful presentations.
* Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to translate data into actionable strategies aligned with organizational goals.
* Adaptability and Drive: Results-oriented, proactive, and skilled at managing competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $115,000-$140,000 per year. Starting salary offers will vary depending on several factors including education, experience, and qualifications. This role also qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus.
