Salter Grange is actively recruiting an experienced and talented Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic project team on a landmark project in London.
The ideal Quantity Surveyor would have worked with a large subcontractor or have an existing Main Contracting background, having managed sizable projects while working for reputable contractors.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the site project team on all quantity surveying duties on your projects to ensure all commercial & contractual commitments are met & value is maximized.
Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily commercial and contractual operations.
* Perform contract administration tasks, including managing changes and maintaining relevant logs (e.g., Change Order Log).
* Negotiate and secure the best value for subcontract orders.
* Assist in managing project budgets, cost plans, and feasibility studies as needed.
* Review and approve interim and final submissions from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with the Construction Contracts Act.
* Conduct pre-appointment meetings with subcontractors to clearly define the scope and appoint them according to FMC subcontract terms and main contract requirements to minimize contractual risks.
* Negotiate, draft, and submit final accounts, including claims for loss and expense, delays, disruptions, and time extensions.
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics and or an equivalent degree
* 3-5 years of quantity surveying experience
* Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of the various forms of contract used in the construction industry (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT etc.)
* Strong numeracy and report-writing skills
* Strong negotiation & conflict management skills and process-oriented with a focus on results.
