An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Inclusion Teacher to join the specialist inclusion centre within a supportive secondary school in Portsmouth. The centre provides a nurturing environment for students aged 11-16 with complex Cognition and Learning difficulties, all of whom have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). The approach is entirely student-focused, ensuring that each child’s individual learning journey is recognised and supported.
As an Inclusion Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of the students. Working alongside a skilled and passionate team, you will foster a learning environment that supports students' academic, social, and emotional development. Your role will be instrumental in empowering young people, helping them develop confidence, independence, and key life skills.
Responsibilities
* A qualified teacher (QTS) with the ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
* Experience working with students who have additional learning needs, ideally within an SEN or Inclusion setting, whether in secondary education or upper Key Stage 2.
* A commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences, ensuring lessons are accessible, engaging, and adapted to meet each student’s individual needs.
* A positive and patient approach, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families.
* A high standard of classroom practice, setting clear expectations and promoting positive behaviour to help students reach their full potential.
* Passionate about helping young people thrive, ensuring they make progress and develop essential skills for life beyond the classroom.
