Job Description
The Job Mission
As an Electrical and I&C Handover Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in the handover and takeover process of electrical and instrumentation systems within the MEH phase at Hinkley Point C. This role blends technical expertise with project delivery skills to ensure seamless system transition.
1. Develop and update procedures for system handover and takeover processes.
2. Instruct and support Joint Ventures in drafting Electrical and I&C Engineering Erection System Records (EESRs).
3. Review EESR documents and conduct system walkdowns with key stakeholders.
4. Manage punch list categorisation and support closeout of comments and snags.
5. Oversee functional takeover processes for Commissioning, Isolation, and Maintenance phases.
6. Identify and resolve installation issues early to ensure compliance with specifications.
7. Support documentation and certification preparation for key takeover stages.
8. Collaborate across disciplines to support mechanical and HVAC system handovers as needed.
My profile
Required Skills and Qualifications
1. Degree in electrical, I&C, or electronic engineering.
2. Experience in regulated industries (nuclear, oil & gas, energy) across installation, commissioning, or maintenance.
3. Awareness of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to the nuclear sector.
4. Expertise in troubleshooting and fault finding.
5. Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and resolve technical challenges.
6. Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional status.
7. Familiarity with the design and commissioning of nuclear power plants.
8. Knowledge of UK nuclear safety case processes and Intelligent Customer principles.
9. Experience managing engineering teams in safety-focused environments.
10. Understanding of project-driven programmes and commercial change impacts.
