Job Content:
§ Provide technical bridge between Design Engineering and Production Engineering by assisting in the development and transfer to production of new products.
§ Support engineering handover and transfer of new products to production.
§ Provide technical support in performing RF system testing.
§ Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
§ Assist in system operations and maintenance activities.
§ Coordinate with management to assess technical challenges and provide action items.
§ Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
§ Develop test procedures and strategies to carry out system testing.
§ Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
§ Design and develop test fixtures.
§ Configure RF test benches and carry out system calibration and testing as required. This includes RF signal sources, power meters, spectrum and network analysers and environmental test chambers.
§ Analyse and troubleshoot RF test equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
§ Liaise with diagnostic technicians and conduct job training when required.
§ Work effectively in collaboration with mechanical, electronic designers and relevant project managers.
§ In collaboration with production and design engineering personnel, carry out experiments to identify potential design or process changes that can solve compliance problems, reduce test time, or improve process yield.
§ Oversee and control any engineering changes via the ECO/ECN process.
§ Prepare high quality technical reports and presentations in a professional and coherent manner.
§ Ensure that all processes concerned with product manufacture conform to MIL-STD-883/ISO9000 Standards
§ Inspecting and generating reports on incoming material: circuits, surface mount assembly, MMICs.
§ Familiarity with MRP & PLM systems (NetSuite & ARENA) to look up parts, check BOMS…
§ Assembly of test pieces and wiring looms, implementing modifications to breadboard and prototype units. Soldering of surface mount components.
§ In conjunction with Product engineering review and analyse the build faults found and lead improvement projects.
§ Observes and follows all necessary safety regulations when operating machinery, equipment, and tools.
§ Perform any other reasonable tasks as business needs dictate.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
§ Positive, can-do attitude
§ Minimum 2 years’ experience within a RF test environment.
§ The successful candidate will have experience of working with RF test equipment and communication systems, familiarity with verification and validation processes, and experience of ensuring the integrity of test execution. Ideally in an NPI environment.
§ Strong knowledge of RF Test Systems and RF instruments. (Network analysers, Spectrum Analysers, AWG; Power Meters; RF Amplifiers, Oscilloscopes and Environmental test equipment.
§ Analysis skills and methodical approach to problem resolution and investigations
§ Presentation and report writing skills
§ Experience of jigging and fixture specification and design.
§ Advanced in MS Excel including Building charts and graphs, sorting and filtering data, formula functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP etc
§ Willingness to undergo further Training and Development (if required).
§ The ability to achieve UK security clearance.
Education & Training:
Desirable
§ HND or Degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering discipline (or equivalent) or extensive experience.
