An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Infection/Consultant Clinical Scientist (Microbiology or Microbiology/Infectious Diseases) to join the Microbiology Department in the largest Trust in the country.
The Department is involved in a Trust wide project to create a cohesive infection service across all the hospitals within the Trust, in what is one of the largest infection departments in the UK. This will incorporate colleagues in microbiology, virology, infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, respiratory medicine, genitourinary medicine and infection prevention.
This is a great opportunity to join a friendly forward thinking infection service at an exciting time.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and be a driving force in further developing our infection service. These posts would be well suited to patient facing clinicians looking to develop specialist interests in any of the many areas available. From an infection perspective the opportunities to develop on existing links are considerable.
The posts would suit candidates with either Medical Microbiology or dual Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases accreditation (or expected to be CCT accredited within 6 months), to work within the Department of Microbiology at MFT.
The post includes cross site working as the job plan requires. The clinical laboratory is located on the Oxford Road Campus.
