Full Time, Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children’s Social Care Assistant to join the Kinship and Special Guardianship Service.
The aim of this role is to provide administrative support to the Social Workers and Family Supports workers in the team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an administrative background who enjoys supporting people. You will need to be confident handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls and emails, have excellent computer skills and demonstrate good interpersonal skills whilst working directly with social care practitioners and service users to resolve their enquiries.
You will have a key role providing direct support to the social workers and family support workers within the team. This will involve carrying out a variety of administrative and team support tasks. These include information gathering, providing a point of contact for professionals and service users alike, supporting social workers with service applications, taking phone calls then signposting or passing messages on, using organisational skills to arrange key meetings and minute taking, maintaining up to date records on the database, supporting the team manager to track performance targets and financial transactions.
The Kinship and Special Guardianship Service supports family members, friends and other connected people to care for children who are unable to live with their birth parents. Sitting within the wider Fostering Service, Kinship and Special Guardianship is made up of three teams with a focus on assessing potential carers and providing support to carers and children where a plan for permanency has been made.
You will be providing administrative support to the teams which are made up of 4 Team Managers, Social Workers and Family Support Workers. We are based in BBond in an open plan office overlooking the river Avon and Ashton Court, and within easy reach of transport links. We have high aspirations and are committed to providing services to achieve the best possible outcomes.
In Kinship and Special Guardianship, we recognise the importance of family connections in a child’s life. We believe children should have every opportunity to remain living within their wider family wherever it is safe to do so. We are a creative, supportive and reflective team who share similar values and welcome any applicants who feel they can share this vision.
This role is office based and requires excellent administrative skills.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
