As Maintenance Manager, you will be reducing downtime, ensuring timely calibration and maintenance of machines, and driving cost reduction initiatives for power, fuel, repairs, and maintenance. You will also have a proven track record in optimising production equipment performance while minimising breakdowns and associated costs. Responsibilities: Ensure production plan adherence by maintaining the maximum availability and efficiency of production machines and utilities Lead and manage the calibration and preventive maintenance programs to ensure machines and equipment operate at optimal performance levels Oversee the development and implementation of machine maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal disruptions to the production process Proactively reduce downtime for process equipment and machines by identifying potential issues and addressing them before they lead to breakdowns Implement strategies to minimise the frequency of machine breakdowns, leading to a significant reduction in unplanned downtime and production delays Monitor and control power and fuel consumption, identifying opportunities for energy savings and driving cost reduction initiatives Manage repair and maintenance (R&M) budgets, ensuring the effective allocation of resources and minimising unexpected repair costs Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to machine availability, downtime, maintenance costs, and energy efficiency Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth coordination between production schedules and maintenance activities to meet operational targets Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring machine breakdowns and develop action plans to eliminate or reduce recurring failures Oversee the maintenance of utilities (e.g., air, water, electricity), ensuring they are available in the required quality and quantity to support production processes Manage and train a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring they are skilled, knowledgeable, and equipped to perform maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, fostering a culture of safety in maintenance practices Evaluate equipment and tool effectiveness, recommending upgrades or modifications to improve operational performance Personal Specification: 5 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably within the motorcycle, automotive, or manufacturing industries. Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams or technicians. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Experience with CMMS and maintenance scheduling tools Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance standards Strong communication and organisational skills Preferred Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field Experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environments Familiarity with motorcycle-specific machinery (dynos, lifts, tuning stations, etc.) Certifications such as CMRP, HVAC, or PLC programming a plus Rewards of Working for Norton: We like to take care of our Nortoneers and we think we offer some pretty decent rewards.
