Due to expansion My Client in Stockport is looking for a Design Manager. As a Design Manager, you will help manage my client's UK Sales and Projects Business profitably, ensuring cost-effective project designs. Reporting to the Head of Project and Design, you will oversee all engineering aspects, ensuring projects are completed within budget. Responsibilities: creating mechanical, electrical, and process engineering design packs for the design, build, manufacture, and servicing of Combined Heat and Power and Tri-generation Plants, Battery Energy Storage Schemes, and future technologies, while providing support throughout the project lifecycle. Managing a team of designers Project Management Job Requirements: - To hold a minimum qualification to degree level, preferably in mechanical engineering discipline with 2 years’ experience in a similar role with a focus on power generation. OR - To hold an HND/C Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline with 3 years’ experience in a similar role with a focus on power generation. - To be a competent process engineer with 2 years’ experience in power generation, process engineering, electrical distribution and building services, pipework and ventilation design, CDM and health & safety. - To have previous experience in successful technical management and development of Energy Projects. - To have proven ability to manage engineering design activities in a business environment with safety critical responsibility. - To have previous experience managing a team of Design Engineers. - To have strong resource planning skills. - To have effective IT skills and competent in Microsoft Office Packages and an understanding of AutoCAD or equivalent. - To hold a full, valid driving licence.
