THE ROLE:
1. Business Development Manager/Specification Sales Executive, you'll be selling their standard and bespoke decorative lighting products, including architectural lighting, spotlights, pendant lighting, bathroom lighting, ceiling lights, floor lamps, table lamps, and wall lights.
2. This is a growth move, with the successful candidate being our client's first dedicated London and the South East BDM, so it'll be very new business-focused, developing relationships with interior designers, architects, specifiers, Mechanical and Electrical consultants, and End users.
3. As Business Development Manager/Specification Sales Manager, you'll be working on projects from independent hotels to major hotel brands, care homes, the restaurant and leisure sector, university accommodation, cruise ship manufacturers, etc.
4. As Specification Sales Executive/BDM, you'll be covering London and the South East, effectively in a line from The Wash to Southampton.
5. Projects typically range in value from £5k to £150k+ and your year 1 target will be circa £400k in new projects.
6. Our client has a good lead system and database of interior designers, architects, M&E consultants, and End users, although your existing contacts/relationships will be hugely beneficial.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
1. The successful Area Sales Manager will have specification sales experience, ideally with a design-led interior product, and lighting knowledge would be advantageous although not essential.
2. Project-led specification sales experience in the hotel, hospitality, or leisure sector would be great.
3. You will have excellent account management skills, be organized, consultative, and a strong relationship builder, also capable of new business development.
4. You will be happy covering a large territory and have good IT skills.
5. The ideal candidate will be located in London or the Home Counties.
6. Our client will also consider a less experienced candidate with the personality traits that they need, such as a consultative, professional approach and a desire to sell a design-led solution, with a new business networking appetite.
THE COMPANY:
Our client is a well-established, highly respected SME that works in the design, specification, manufacture, and supply of decorative lighting solutions across the contract market.
THE REMUNERATION:
1. £45,000-£50,000 Basic salary, dependent on experience.
2. Quarterly commission, giving a Year 1 OTE of £70K-£75K. This is uncapped with the highest salesperson hitting £93K earnings.
3. Car allowance of £500 per month.
4. 26 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
