To provide Specialist Assessments for Adults with Eating Disorders (AED). Develop a working network to support staff in consultation and joint working with other agencies, institutions and professionals to provide effective interventions for AED. To support the development of an effective interface between mental health services and across providers and all partnership agencies both statutory and non-statutory.
Develop effective care pathways for Adults with Eating Disorders. Provide training, consultation, and supervision to Healthcare Workers and other professionals in community and hospital settings. Offer and access supervision and support to ensure good practice within the team. Undertake Clinical practice that demonstrates knowledge and promotes Patient rights and Safeguarding legislation.
To have a clear agreement with the service manager about the amount of time/sessions that should be direct clinical work. To pro-actively provide psycho-education and advice to patients and carers. Assessing risk in collaboration with the patient and their carers where appropriate, other workers/professionals, alongside use of own professional judgment and team processes. This involves exploring individuals' risk of harm to themselves and/or others and may involve working with challenging, hostile and distressing behaviour.
Taking responsibility for ensuring the communication of Recovery Care Plans, Outcome measures, risk management plans and other important information to relevant people, professionals and agencies as appropriate. Encouraging individuals to take the lead in sharing information wherever possible. Participation in the organisation and operational management of the Adult Eating Disorder (AED) community Service as agreed with the Clinical Team Manager. Keeping accurate and contemporary clinical notes, reports and workload data.
Implementing and promoting local and national legislation, incorporating good practice guidelines into clinical work. Managing and prioritising clinical time and case load effectively. Ensure effective communication with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to assist standards of clinical services.
