Role: Team Leader Residential
Salary: £31,100 per annum plus £700 on call allowance
Location: Rushden Northampton
Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week

A bit about the role:
This is an exciting, challenging and rewarding role as a Children's Residential Team Leader with the opportunity to make a huge personal impact.
We will actively support you in your role and provide you with regular supervision / APR process and specialist training including a commitment to achieve Level 5, Leadership and Management qualification from our newly developed Professional Development Centre.
The Squirrels is a Children's Short Breaks home in Rushden for children with disabilities who have complex health needs up to the age of 18. The home is dual registered with CQC and Ofsted.
The Squirrels provides a structured environment and nursing care we give parents and carers the opportunity to 'recharge their batteries' in the knowledge that their child is in a safe and stimulating environment.
How you'll help to create brighter futures:
As a Children's Team Leader Residential, you will work with the Senior team in the day to day running of the home as part of a multi-disciplinary team ensuring that the young person is in the safe Supporting environment required to nurture their needs.
* Leading shifts and supervising staff
* Link working with young people (managing paperwork and files)
* Developing care plans and identifying agreed outcomes.
* Responsible for the safeguarding of young people.
* Being an advocate for the wellbeing of the young people.
Let's talk about you.
* Experience of working with children or young people with complex needs within a residential setting.
* Level 3 QCF Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or the willingness to undertake the level 3 qualification.
* Experience of Ofsted or CQC is an advantage but not essential.
* An understanding of attachment theory and impact of adverse childhood experiences on the development and behaviour of children and young people.
* A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* IT literate, the ideal candidate must be confident in using a computer.
