Purpose of the job Collinson is seeking a dynamic Data Platform Manager to lead the strategic development, operational management, and delivery of our data platform while overseeing the integration of the data marketplace. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficient management of vendor relationships, creating data products that deliver significant value to our clients, and driving business growth. The successful candidate will harness data to generate actionable insights, foster innovation, and enhance our competitive edge in the market. The Data Platform Manager will be responsible for driving the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from conceptualization to launch and continuous improvement. This includes identifying market opportunities, defining product requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The role demands a deep understanding of data technologies, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven business strategies. Key Responsibilities Platform Development and Management: • Support the design, development, and maintenance of the data platform, ensuring robust data integration, storage, and accessibility. • Drive the strategic direction of the platform, focusing on delivering high-value data products to clients. Marketplace Integration: • Oversee the integration and continuous evolution of the data marketplace to meet emerging technological trends and business needs. • Ensure the strategic placement of the data platform within the broader ecosystem to maximize value creation and competitive advantage. Product Innovation and Value Creation: • Develop and manage data products that enhance client decision-making and operational efficiency. • Continuously assess and enhance platform offerings to align with client needs and industry trends. Delivery and Reliability: • Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of data platform projects, maintaining high standards of reliability and performance. • Implement best practices in continuous integration and deployment to enhance platform stability. Cross-functional Collaboration: • Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, product management, and business teams to integrate diverse inputs into platform and marketplace design. • Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding. Vendor Management: • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring alignment with platform goals and standards. • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to optimize costs and service quality. Compliance and Security: • Maintain high standards of data security and privacy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Knowledge, skills, and experience required Education: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Skills and Ex perience: • Proven experience in data product management, data marketplace development, and platform strategy. • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and quality best practices. • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results. • Proficiency in modern data architecture, data modelling, and relevant technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Snowflake, Kafka, AWS services). • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management practices. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
