Registered Manager Childrens Home
£45,000 to £60,000 dependent on experience
Bolton
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, 37.5 hours per week
The Role
You will be responsible for a 5 bedroomed, newly refurbished residential care home in Bolton. The home will provide residential short and long-term care, supporting up to 3 young people aged 5-18. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing the effective operation and management of the children's home, prioritizing the needs of vulnerable children and young people.
2. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines.
3. Delivering high-quality care and support that meets each child's needs, promoting their well-being, development, and empowerment.
4. Focusing on operational and clinical services, while meeting standards and being the key contact for the home in relation to CQC inspection and admission.
5. Coordinating care services, undertaking care plans, reports, and reviews.
6. Developing relationships with care home residents and patients.
7. Hiring, training, and managing care home staff.
8. Responsible for policies and procedures under the legal framework.
9. Carrying out administrative duties.
10. Building partnerships with local community support networks.
11. Managing finances and budgeting.
12. Participating in on-call duties and attending emergencies.
13. Creating and managing staff rota.
The Candidate
You will be an experienced registered manager with strong knowledge and experience in safeguarding children and young people. You will also have the following skills, experiences, and attributes:
1. Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.
2. Ideally, you will be degree qualified in a relevant subject such as social care management, nursing, or health, but this is not essential.
3. Level 5 Diploma in leadership management in Children and Young People in care.
4. 2 years of experience working as a Registered Manager in a children's care home.
5. Empathy and compassion to relate to the predicament of children and build strong relationships.
6. People skills to interact confidently with residents, families, and care home workers.
7. Leadership skills to promote good relationships within the care home.
8. Time management and organization skills to ensure efficient completion of activities.
