Purpose

Our ambitious growth plans include Offshore Windfarms in East Anglia with our team leading the Group’s International Offshore development with over 40 operational Windfarms which we manage through our world leading Control Centre at Whitelee Windfarm, near Glasgow.
Belonging to the Project Team and reporting to the Offshore Fabrication & Expediting Department Manager, the Fabrication Project Engineer will support Fabrication strategies, plans, tendering, negotiating and managing medium-scale Offshore Fabrication works.
The Fabrication Project Engineer will also plan and implement Fabrication and expediting procedures and best practices which will include Site management of Offshore Fabrication contractors and associated interfaces to ensure quality, best practices, and excellent HSE performances.
Responsibilities
1. Preparing technical specifications for Fabrication contracts, implementing Offshore Structural/Fabrication/Electrical/Marine standards, procedures, tools, best practices and quality requirements.
2. Assisting delivery of Fabrication contracts/projects with various interfaces (Design, Main equipment, Offshore Works and other suppliers) and coordinating to manage within the Offshore Wind projects.
3. Supporting the Lead Fabrication Project Engineer with the evaluation and selection of the Fabrication/Supplier Contractor within major fabrication projects.
4. Participating in technical tender meetings, reviewing offers from bidders, and preparing bid assessments while providing advice on Structural/Fabrication/Electrical/Marine works and testing solutions/risk levels.
5. Ensuring site delivery of construction works is appropriate and consistent with specification, budget and timetable without compromising safety.
6. Assisting with electrical integration in additional project packages, especially Free Issue Equipments (FIE’s) packages and designers.
7. Controlling, managing and assisting Engineering and Design Teams with all site queries raised during Fabrication activities.
8. Managing medium scale project sites (Manufacturing facilities, Fabrication sites, Marine Warranty Surveyors, Load outs, Transfer of custodies, Site Logistic) under delivery including Contractors, Consultants and Supervisors.
9. Managing site hand over from Fabrication delivery to Installation, Commissioning or O&M.
10. Supporting with the QHSE team to develop QHSE plan for Fabrication works, ensuring a high standard of health and safety at site.
What you’ll bring
* Degree and professional qualification in relevant Engineering discipline, preferably Structural or Marine Engineering (Master or Bachelor Engineering).
* Site experience on Offshore Design or Construction works for Offshore Wind, Oil & Gas, Shipbuilding or Power Industry.
* Familiarity with Offshore Design codes for Fabrication, testing and design of Offshore Structure electrical standards (DNV).
* Flexibility to travel regularly to attend meetings and work at different project sites or European countries, particularly Germany, France, and Spain.
