We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 main contractor working on a major highway's maintenance project. The project is expected to continue until 2028, offering long-term stability and exciting challenges. About the role of Quantity Surveyor:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in a wide range of civil engineering works, including surfacing, bridge joints, drainage, earthworks, concrete repairs, and other general civils. You will be responsible for managing project costs, from initial pricing to final accounts, ensuring the client's needs are met while maximising the project's profitability. The project follows the NEC contract structure, and you will need to have a solid understanding of its processes.
Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor:
1. Pricing work, preparing estimates, and submitting tenders
2. Managing client relationships and addressing any concerns or queries
3. Preparing and negotiating final accounts
4. Ensuring accurate and timely reporting on project costs and forecasts
5. Attending regular project meetings with the team and clients
6. Collaborating with site teams to manage costs and ensure project efficiency
Requirements for Quantity Surveyor:
1. Minimum of 6 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the civils sector
2. Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
3. Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks effectively
4. Excellent communication skills to engage with clients and team members
5. Previous experience on highways or civil engineering projects preferred
