Job summary We are seeking an organised and methodical individual to support the planning processes of the ICB relating to National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance. You will have the ability to learn new concepts and terminology quickly and be comfortable with supporting projects and meetings across a wide range of specialist areas. You will engage with individuals in the local system and maintain accurate, up-to-date records. Your role will involve assimilating and understanding information relating to medical services and specific treatments preparing a summary of the implications for commissioners. You will develop your skills compiling reports, collating/summarising data and presenting to small groups. You will increase your knowledge across the breadth of specialist work that the team undertakes supporting the ICB in ensuring that drugs and treatments provided in Devon represent the best use of the NHS budget. Main duties of the job You will join the Clinical Effectiveness team preparing summaries of NICE guidance and its implications using information published by NICE, their implementation tools and intelligence from providers. You will present these summaries to inform the NICE Planning Advisory Group and support processes for ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities. You will report to and be supported by an experienced governance manager, enabling you to produce comprehensive summaries across a wide range of medical specialities and guidance types whilst developing confidence and expertise in the output and processes of NICE. By preparing a monthly bulletin for local dissemination you will support awareness of published NICE guidance. Your role includes maintaining awareness of forthcoming NICE guidance to inform work plans and opportunities to engage with NICE processes. As you grow in experience in the role you will support the wider business functions of the team managing the mailbox, responding to internal and external queries, and fulfilling information governance requirements.
