About the CAD Team Lead Role
The successful CAD Team Lead will manage the team of CAD Technicians to deliver technical/manufacturing drawings and BOM’s, on time, to the manufacturing teams. You will provide leadership and guidance to the organisation on technical matters, including structural design, manufacturing methods and material selection.
Other responsibilities will include:
Manage ongoing team performance via an effective suite of KPIs including leadtime achievement and NCR performance (non-conformances).
Creation and delivery of technical/manufacturing drawings
Own and manage the library of BOMs, ensuring strict change management and revision control.
Produce BOMs for new work as required, ensuring a clear feedback process to the Commercial Team to address cost/specification deviations from estimate, with action plans where appropriate.
Lead value engineering projects for key clients, identifying opportunities to design-out cost through material/method/specification selection.
About You
As CAD Team Lead, you will have a Mechanical Engineering degree or significant experience working in a technical capacity in a manufacturing/engineering environment, along with excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Other requirements for the CAD Team Lead include:
Can demonstrate experience of developing of a team, and individuals, to improved performance.
Experience and working knowledge of a range of technical drawing software, both 2D & 3D.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical projects.
Appreciation of change control within a manufacturing environment.
Logical fact-based approach to troubleshooting & problem solving.
