Turner/Machinist – Precision Engineering

Responsibilities:
As a Turner/Machinist, you will operate a conventional centre lathe to manufacture and refurbish precision parts.
Carry out milling and drilling operations using light conventional machinery.
Assemble and fit new parts, ensuring precision fits and conducting functional testing.
Operate or oversee CNC turning and milling machines, with the opportunity to undertake programming following training.
Contribute to continuous improvement through design-for-manufacture suggestions.
Perform general workshop duties as required, in line with the role.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with statutory and company requirements.
Read and interpret technical drawings to carry out tasks to the required quality standard.
Meet agreed production deadlines and delivery targets.Requirements:
Essential Requirements:
Ability to operate machine tools safely and in accordance with statutory regulations.
Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Competent in the use and care of precision measuring equipment (micrometers, vernier calipers, etc.).Desirable Requirements:
Completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship or related qualifications.
Minimum of five years’ experience operating conventional machine tools and carrying out fitting work.
Experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes (programming experience advantageous but not essential).Benefits:
